See All Reviews$3 for a tiny taco with sad meat The steak and pork was shredded so small there wasn't anything for the juices to sit on, so the meat was flavorless and dry. Explains the tiny salt packet that came in the to-go box. The sauces that came with were fine, but the lime, onion, and cilantro were doing a lot of the work. The tortillas were fine also, but thick enough (maybe a flour and corn mix?) you almost didn't need two. Cash only.
I love this taco trailer. I've only ordered steak/asada tacos the few times I've been there. They're just meat, onion, and cilantro served with a lime wedge to squeeze, but they are SO good. $3/each at time of this review. There's a choice of red or green sauce or both. The red has an immediate and persistent heat that doesn't overpower other flavors (I'm a pepperhead so it might burn for normal people). The green has a, well, green pepper type flavor and mid/back-end lower heat. For the Service and Atmosphere parts of the rating: The people working it have always been friendly and the food is available in a couple of minutes if there aren't other orders in front of you. Atmosphere: Just my opinion, but I like being able to sit on the back of my car beside the detestable New Leicester Hwy just relaxing and waiting for some good food.
From best to worst. I ate here at least once a week for almost a year. Last night it was very different and I was sick as hell. The vibe was not friendly like usual and the new guy kept glaring at us suspiciously as the tacos were being made. They tasted bad, i was given pork instead of barbacoa and I spent hours puking and worse. I'll never go back. I'm deeply upset as Hortensia was one of my favorite people to see each week and the tacos were so good they inspired me to learn to make my own. Don't know who the new guy is but his presence heralded the end of an era.
